As an Apprentice you will to work with us in training to build the skills needed to become a competent journeyman status toolmaker. Work with a team of experienced Die makers in a manufacturing environment. We are looking for an individual with technical aptitude and the desire the learn new skillsets in a Tool Room environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assemble and disassemble tooling using hand tools. - Modify tooling and communicate changes to engineering for documentation. - Identify common components that require replacement. - Work with Dies and fixtures. - Work individually or in teams depending on scope of work. - Work with and receive training from tool and die makers, engineering, technicians. - Candidates must be comfortable working in a shop environment - Work from blueprints, sketches, concepts and verbal instructions - Operate conventional tool room machinery and equipment and possess an understanding of the basic operation (i.e. mill, grinder, etc.) - Assist with diagnose and correct die and tooling difficulties - Use tool room precision measuring equipment - Check, measure, and inspect all types of die components, and tooling for accuracy - Observe all company rules and procedures including housekeeping, quality of work and safety - Perform other duties as assigned or necessary to meet business conditions or changes - Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to read blue prints and use measuring equipment - Good communication skills QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or equivalent required - Prefer candidates with previous tooling experience in a manufacturing environment - Technical school classes in tool & die and/or mold making or related field is preferred - Able to pass pre-employment screenings, including background check, drug screen.

The Assembly Laborer reports to a supervisor and is responsible assembling components according to product specifications.   Essential Functions - Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials - Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements - Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies - Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources - Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements. - Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies - Daily communication with supervisor regarding potential issues - Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. - Ensures safety measures are followed to protect personnel and company property - Contributes to team effort by accomplishing quality and timely results - Perform other duties as directed by supervisor and management   Competencies - Maintains the highest standard of personal conduct in performing all duties - Willingness to be flexible with schedule in order to meet customer demands - Commitment to ensuring jobs are completed accurately within deadlines - Possesses the physical stamina and perseverance to handle pressure well - Proactive in avoiding mistakes that should be anticipated rather than reactive - Encourages a positive rather than negative viewpoint - Ability to work well with others while pursuing common goal - Communicates honestly, openly, and consistently  Supervisory Responsibility   This position has no supervisory responsibilities upon hiring, however, potential direct reports are a possibility.   Physical Demands   The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
