Essential Functions

  1. Observance of all safety rules and policies maintained by the company;
  2. Maintenance of raw material inventory (beam, channel, tube, angle, etc.);
  3. Movement of raw material to and from saw area
  4. Maintenance of saw, saw tables, saw blades, rollers, etc.;
  5. Assurance of secure material handling through safety cross-check;
  6. Assurance of accurate measurements on all cuts;
  7. Rotation of position into splice or production welding as necessary;
  8. Assistance in repair work as necessary;
  9. Maintenance of good housekeeping practices throughout the installation    



  1. Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals;
  2. Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English);
  3. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not
  4. limited to, work orders, frame prints, and measurements;
  5. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects;
  6.  Must be able to work with minimum supervision;
  7. Must demonstrate welding competency and knowledge of welding systems;
  8. Must be able to rotate to other splice or production welding positions as the need arises or as is deemed necessary;
  9. Must be able to operate appropriate equipment including arc and MIG welders,     band saws, acetylene torches, tape measures, etc.;
  10. Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds;
  11. Must be able to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary;
  12. Must possess successful problem solving skills;
  13. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships
  14. with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc.;
  15. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations;
  16. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling.  The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.  This position requires Personal Protective Equipment.  Protective Equipment supplied by the company includes:  Coating suit, Coating Boots, Spray Socks, Respirator, Work Gloves, Safety Glasses and Ear Plugs.  Employees may be required to provide additional Protective Equipment (Safety Shoes, etc.).


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.



Local travel is expected for this position


Required Education and Experience

  1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred;
  2. Welding competency and knowledge of welding systems to be demonstrated;

Preferred Education and Experience

Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available).

Work Authorization/Security Clearance
