Summary/Objective

Leadership Development Directors are responsible for bringing to life the leadership, personal, and professional development objectives and initiatives throughout the part of the organization they support, while supporting all Lippert cultural initiatives. Leading a team of people development professionals, they partner with functional leadership to effectively integrate and develop leadership and culture at every layer of the organization. Using the Lippert Leadership Development model, they work to develop individuals, teams, and businesses to achieve their full potential, through the lens of our Core Values and Leader Qualities. They are responsible for the engagement and development of leaders at the executive, divisional, and frontline levels, serving as a trainer, coach, and trusted advisor to our business leaders, while guiding initiatives that support the engagement and personal & professional development of all team members.

They provide assessment, evaluation, and accountability of key leaders and teams for developmental growth. They work as part of a global Leadership Development team to bring varied expertise and function to the overall strengthening of Lippert. The role’s effectiveness and relevance are measured through influence built and impact on the individuals and teams with whom they work. They help maintain the organizational health of the teams they support, keeping our organizational identity alive in those within their span of care: our vision to make Business a Force for Good, our mission to make lives better by developing meaningful relationships with our customers, our co-workers, and our communities, and our cultural strategy of Everyone Matters! They collaborate with the other Leadership & Culture teams to ensure alignment of all people and culture activity, lead a team of people development professionals in the execution of department initiatives, and collaborate closely with operational/functional leaders and HR.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Reflects the core essence of a Lippert Leader, with capability to lead Self, Team, and Business in a manner that aligns with Core Values and Leader Qualities
  2. Partners with divisional leadership to bring to life all leadership, professional, and personal development initiatives within the division, ensuring both global alignment and local execution
  3. Leads a team of people development professionals, guiding them in implementation and execution of department initiatives within the teams/divisions they support
  4. Trains, coaches, and advises Lippert leaders to lead through the Lippert Leader Model of leading Self, Team, and Business through the lens of Core Values and Leader Qualities
  5. Creates (and/or guides the creation of) and delivers training content as needed
  6. Guides the training and development delivery cadence within the division they support
  7. Supports all Leadership & Culture initiatives including but not limited to Lippert Cares, Training & Development, the Lippert Academy of Leadership, & Health & Wellbeing
  8. Evaluates programs through the collection of data and feedback, communicating relevant data and metrics
  9. Builds relational trust and influence with leaders and team members, with an emphasis on executive and functional leadership
  10. Continues self-development and learning in Leadership & Culture theory and practice, offering developmental relevance to the team and organization

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with and engage the hearts and minds of team members at every layer of the organization
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to coach and motivate people to achieve goals
  3. Strong knowledge, proficiency, and experience in content creation, customization, and facilitation for the development of all leadership levels
  4. Strong organizational and project management skills
  5. Takes initiative and delivers results amid ambiguous, fast-paced, ever-changing environments
  6. Understanding of adult learning methods
  7. Strong computer software skills, including PowerPoint and Excel
  8. Ethical conduct

  10. Strong background in personal, leadership, and organizational
  11. Ability to independently establish strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with all levels of leadership across the organization
  12. Ability to facilitate engaging training sessions and conduct one-on-one and small group coaching
  13. Technical competencies in PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Learning Management Systems, D365 

Supervisory Responsibility

This role requires the supervision of direct reports/team members.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree
  2. 5+ years of experience leading a team and/or developing leaders, teams, and organizations
  3. Proven experience developing content, facilitating groups, and conducting 1:1 coaching

Additional Education and Experience Preferred

  1. Advanced degrees or certifications in organizational and leadership development
  2. Manufacturing experience
  3. Bi-lingual (Spanish, French, Burmese)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is also necessary. 

Travel

Up to 40% travel could be expected for this position.
