  • Overview

    At Lippert Components, the role of the Magento Developer is critical in the success of our Customer Experience Technologies team in delivering and maintaining core digital commerce functionality which exceed the expectations of our customers and internal stakeholders. 

    This is an eCommerce role that will collaborate with other developers, admins, and business users across the organization. Your main tasks will include working along side our E-commerce Technical Architect, developers, and BSAs to develop and deploy updates to our existing stores, as well as work with vendor partners to develop and release new stores and commerce experiences for other business units in our organization

    An ideal candidate will have experience developing for Magento 2, be familiar agile project management life cycles, and will always have the customer experience top of mind.  Skills in Laravel, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, HTML, CSS, and Elasticsearch will be highly valuable for this position.

     

    Essential Functions

    1. Develop and manage e-commerce websites, web applications & web sites.
    2. Analyze, design, code, debug, test, document & deploy applications and features
    3. Participate in project & deployment planning.
    4. Share knowledge and experience with other developers, via code reviews and other interactions
    5. Audit the health, security, and performance of Magento sites, including the ability to identify problems, provide recommendations, and implement them
    6. Write documented, quality code using best development practices that can undergo extensive testing.
    7. Collaborate with graphic designers in our Marketing Department to match visual design intent.
    8. Write automation tools and scripts where applicable in either our Magento Application or our supporting Laravel Applications.
    9. Document code and technical designs.

     

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities upon hiring; however, potential direct reports are a possibility.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly talk and listen. This position is not very active when it comes to movement and requires a lot of typing and sitting in a chair.

     

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

     

    Travel

    Local travel is expected for this position.

     

    Education and Experience

    1. 2+ Years Experience in Magento 2 module development and Theme customization
    2. Experience with Magento 2 APIs and integrations with 3rd party applications
    3. Demonstrable knowledge of PHP, MySQL, XML, XHTML, CSS, JS (Vanilla & Frameworks), and NoSQL databases.
    4. Experience with frameworks such as Laravel, Vue, Knockout, jQuery, etc.
    5. Demonstrated Experience using Source Control (ie. Git, GitFlow, etc.)
    6. Must be a team player
    7. Must be able to derive actionable insight and strategy from high level concepts
    8. Solid understanding of the principles behind security, performance, scalability, and maintainability, including the ability to identify problems with each and fix them

     

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Magento 2 Certifications
    2. Examples of published websites or projects that you’ve worked on
    3. Experience with Magento Cloud, Data Migration Tool, MFTF, PWA Studio, and deployment processes is a plus
    4. Experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools is a plus.
