    Summary/Objective

    The Maintenance Leader is responsible for performing diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

    Essential Functions

    • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
    • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
    • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
    • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
    • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
    • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
    • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
    • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
    • Responsible for repairing fences, gates, buildings
    • Assurance that all machinery and equipment is in proper working order through safety cross - check procedures;
    • Cataloging of all service, repair, and safety records;              
    • Assistance with outside firms/contractors with regard to securing price quotations for necessary services and to working as a company representative in the completion of necessary services;

    • Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, frame prints, and measurements;

     

    • Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects;

     

    • Must be able to work with minimum supervision;

     

    • Must demonstrate understanding and execution of machine operation and repair techniques;

     

    • Must demonstrate welding competency and knowledge of welding systems;

     

    • Must be able to operate appropriate equipment including repair tooling and devices, arc and MIG welders, band saws, acetylene torches, tape measures, etc.;

     

    • Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds;

     

    • Must be able to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary;

     

    • Must possess successful problem solving skills;

     

    • Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships
    • with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc.;

     

    • Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations;

     

    • Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.

     

     

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This role will have supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

     

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires 98% standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. 

    Travel

    Travel to secure necessary parts or tooling      

     

    Required Education and Experience

    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred;

     

    • Experience/Education in machine operation and repair preferred;

     

    • Welding competency and knowledge of welding systems preferred;

     

    • Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available).

    Manufacturing/industry experience
