  • Overview

    Responsible for safely and effectively fabricating, repairing, and maintaining production fixtures, carriers, and special projects at a pace that supports department goals. Responsible for adhering to LCI core values, safety guidelines, and lean initiatives. Required to request support, as necessary, from other Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance leadership.

     

    Essential Functions

    1. Able to safely perform maintenance tasks using basic hand tools and basic power tools.
    2. Able to safely and proficiently perform metal fabrication using basic tool shop equipment.
    3. Able to safely and proficiently fabricate, repair, and maintain fixtures, carriers, and specials projects using GMAW equipment.
    4. Able to safely and proficiently fabricate, repair, and maintain fixtures, carriers, and specials projects using SMAW equipment.
    5. Able to safely and proficiently perform basic finishing of projects using an airless sprayer, as required.
    6. Responsible for safe and proficient fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of roller table systems.

     

     

     

    1. Responsible for safe and proficient fabrication, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of frame jig systems.
    2. Responsible for safe and proficient fabrication, troubleshooting and maintenance of carriers.
    3. Responsible for safe and proficient use of truck and truck tools, as well as maintenance of truck tools and inventories.
    4. Able to safely and proficiently operate fork trucks and aerial lifts.

    1. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to measurements, blue prints, directions, instructions, manuals, and technical drawings etc.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.

    Physical Demands
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the employee is regularly standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    In addition, the employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.

    Travel

    No travel will be required for this position.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. High school diploma or equivalent
    2. Must have experience with GMAW/SMAW welding equipment
    3. Must have experience with metal fabrication
    1. Must successfully complete LCI new hire safety training, refreshers, OSHA approved forklift-training course, Lock Out Tag Out Training, Fall Hazard Training, Confined Space Training, Lean Training, Tabware Technician Training
    2. Basic computer, reading/writing, and communication skills

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Previous experience with fabrication design preferred
    2. Experience rigging and moving equipment with a boom or fork lift is preferred
    3. Education/Experience with machine operation and repair is preferred

    Must be able to pass EVerify.
