  • Overview

    The shipping position verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

     

    Essential Functions
    Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    1. Operates lift trucks, forklifts or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments, areas or onto trucks if necessary.
    2. Load trucks using a pick list generated by Supervisor/Manager
    3. Packs, examines and routes outgoing shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
    4. Supports the shipment of goods produced and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
    5. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
    6. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
    7. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities upon hiring.

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 

    Physical Demands
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time salary position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and your reporting manager.

    Travel

    There is no traveling required with this position

    Required Education and Experience

    Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Manufacturing/industry experience.
    2. Minimum of a high school education and one year of factory-related experience in shipping.
    3. Licensed forklift truck operator (Training available)

    Must be able to pass EVerify.
