  • Overview

    Summary Objective

     

    This position is primarily responsible for the fabrication of chassis small parts.

     

    Essential Functions

     

    1. Observance of all safety rules and policies maintained by the company;
    2. Maintenance of material inventory (steps, shock brackets, battery racks, etc.);
    3. Movement of raw material through installation area;
    4. Movement of chassis through installation area;
    5. Assurance of proper parts specifications (size, dimensions, gauge, etc.) for chassis completion;
    6. Assurance of sufficient part supply at all processing stations;
    7. Movement of completed chassis from installation area to chassis holding area and/or coating area;
    8. Fabrication of upper-deck hitch components for production area;
    9. Rotation of position into splice or production welding as necessary;
    10. Assistance in repair work as necessary;
    11. Maintenance of good housekeeping practices throughout the installation area.

     

     

    Responsibilities

    Competencies

    1. Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals;
    2. Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English);
    3. Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, frame prints, and measurements;
    4. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects;
    5. Must be able to work with minimum supervision;
    6. Must demonstrate welding competency and knowledge of welding systems;
    7. Must be able to rotate to other splice or production welding positions as the need arises or as is deemed necessary;
    8. Must be able to operate appropriate equipment including arc and MIG welders, band saws, acetylene torches, tape measures, etc.;
    9. Must be able to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds;
    10. Must be able to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary;
    11. Must possess successful problem solving skills;
    12. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc.;
    13. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations;
    14. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day.

    Required Education and Experience

    1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred;
    2. Welding competency and knowledge of welding systems

    Preferred Education and Experience

    1. Lift Truck Operators License preferred (training available).

    Must be able to pass EVerify.
