  • Overview

    The Senior Internal Auditor must be meticulous and analytical, with deep knowledge of auditing practices.

     

    Essential Functions

    1. SOX internal control testing
    2. Perform substantive testing for external auditors.
    3. Test the design and operating effectiveness of financial controls.
    4. Gather and provide the audit requests from the external auditors.
    5. Review work of Internal Audit Staff.
    6. Perform physical inventory audits.
    7. Conduct operational, compliance and financial audits.
    8. Make recommendations to improve or correct processes as well as reduce costs.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring, however, the role includes reviewing the work performed by the Internal Audit Staff.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

     

    1. Clerical- Operates office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners, facsimile machines, voice mail systems and personal computers. Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages.  Communicates with management, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information and take instructions.  Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system.  Prepare and modify documents including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos and emails.  Prepare agendas for meetings and prepare schedules. Record, compile, transcribe and distribute minutes of meetings.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is also necessary.

     

    Travel

    Out of state travel is expected for this position approximately 4-6 times per year (total of 8-15 overnights).

     

    Required Education and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    2. 2+ years of relevant audit experience with exposure to a manufacturing environment
    3. Strong analytical skills
    4. Proficient in Microsoft Office
    5. CPA or CIA certification (preferred)
    6. Firm understanding of accounting best practices and GAAP
    7. Microsoft Dynamics AX or other ERP Application experience (preferred)

    Work Authorization/Security Clearance

    Must be able to pass EVerify.
